Djambulula       c1908-60s

Djambulula was a Central Arnhem Land artist who painted a number of his works on Croker Island.  Croker Island is an island in the Arafura Sea off the coast of the Northern Territory , Australia, 250 km northeast of Darwin. It was the site of the Croker Island Mission between 1940 and 1968.

Djambulula’s work has a very unique and distinctive style.  His work is represented in a number of institutional collections.

This painting is in exceptional condition for its age and has a hanging system installed on the back.
