Five Early 20th century Aboriginal Spears
Spears are traditionally used for hunting, fishing and as a weapon to administer tribal law, self defence or acts of agression. All five spears would have been used with spear throwers. Two of the spears are unusual with the barbs being held in place with resin and note the example which has two barbs. This style of spear was found accross the top of Australia from the Kimberleys to Queensland . Note the damage to the multi barbed spear
