This large mokuy figure was collected in Arnhem Land in the late 1960s by Jim Davidson and formed part of his private collection. To date I have not been able to determine who the artist is. The work is in exceptional condition and possibly represents one of the creation beings. Note the woven pandanas dilly bag. The sculpture is mounted on a custom made black metal plate.
