This very detailed mask was collected in the early 1950s and was used in a yam harvest festival. This style of mask was attached to large yams, some of which were up to 3 metres long. The yams were then given individual names and presented at the yam exchange ritual. This example is in exceptional condition. Mounted on a custom metal stand
