This large old gope board was collected in the Bamu River region of the Papuan Gulf.  Its a particularly interesting and unusual design with a full figure and no surrounding detail design.  Its distraughted body form with a small waist and legs and hips balances perfectly with the enlarged upper body

This gope appears to have been carved from the side of an old disused canoe.
